We host ... EVENTS ! We are now taking bookings for weddings or other party events, and for camping, for the summer season 2024.
We are open for family camping parties, and we can provide lots of space to keep you and your family safe from others. Please contact us to discuss possibilities. Radford Mill has hosted hundreds of events throughout more than 45 years and we are keen to increase our current use of this beautiful and unusual venue for weddings, parties, retreats, workshops, courses, concerts, mini-festivals and weekend camping.. You name it! We have a selection of spaces available and we arrange spaces to best suit each kind of activity. We feature compost toilets, wood-fired hot showers, solar panel lighting, camping, barbecues and very tasty home-cooked food.
The Piggery is indoors and is suitable for dancing, yoga, small conferences and indoor workshops up to 50 people, The grounds are extensive and we regularly host 100-400 people for birthday parties and weddings, formal dinners or music events. We have a kitchen next door for serving tea, lunches, or full catering for any size of event.. The River Meadow is very much suited to a self-contained camping event. The field is about 400 metres long, nestled between the winding Cam Brook and the hedge and tree-lined Somerset Coal Canal. We have compost toilets there, mains water and electricity, a campfire pit, and we can erect any number of marquees for any purpose. We can provide full catering in this field for 250 people. It is perfect for ceilidhs, parties and indoor-outdoor workshops. Camper vans and other vehicles are welcome to drive into this field (weather permitting) so access can be very easy. The Fields: We have several field spaces that are suitable for smaller events such as camping, There's Paradise (named by some campers a few years ago), the Driveway Meadow, and Five Acres. We have successfully hosted a classical music concert, a blues festival for several years, Tangled Roots folk festival each year, dozens of weddings, a production of “Wind in the Willows”, yoga and tai chi workshops, birthday parties, circuses and acrobatics shows, groups of caravans and family gatherings of tents.. We provide marquees for protection against the weather when necessary. Each part of the farm is available for one-off events, or as a weekly or monthly meeting space, for clubs or classes or whatever you would like (within reason... .) Weddings A wedding at Radford Mill is a truly unique experience. The setting is gorgeous, lush countryside views all around, unspoilt and peaceful; it’s a perfect setting for your fantastic wedding. Each event is a distinctive and very personal happening. We work with you to provide as much or as little as you require. We can provide marquees to accommodate up to 400 people, to stand alone, or to attach to the Piggery to provide indoor/outdoor space for a band and dancing. We can provide all catering, from cosy family pre wedding meals, champagne and canapés, formal meals for 300, hot chocolate at midnight or bacon baps for the campers on the morning after. Radford Mill does not have a wedding licence, but with Midsomer Norton, Bath and Wells about 15-20 minutes' drive away and Bristol 45 minutes, it is conveniently located to registry offices. Eating at Radford Mill We are primarily food producers, All of Radford Mill Farm produce is certified organic, and we use as many of our own products as possible in our kitchen. Our small group of talented professional chefs can create the menu of your choice and recent menus have included wild green soup, breast of pigeon, paella, barbecued chicken, venison casserole, flavoured cheesecakes and pumpkin pie. We always provide vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Alternatively you may simply hire the venue and bring in all the catering pieces yourself. We are experienced in catering for all kinds of groups and events, from intimate dinners for ten to all day food provision for hundreds. Our portions are very generous and we always offer a wide selection. Our terms are very competitive. Camping We have three large camping fields available for individuals or group events. Come and enjoy camping as it should be, close to nature, simple, and with plenty of space. Each site has water, compost toilets and fire pits. We have a small ‘shop’ on site featuring a selection of farm produce, natural foods from our Bristol shop and essentials. We accept caravans and camper vans with some limitations, as they are not kind to the grass. The Cam Brook flows along all the fields; it's a quiet and shallow river but needs to be taken into consideration for families with very young children. The daily camping rate is £12 per person (under 16's are free if accompanied). Group rates are variable depending on the type of group or event but our prices are reasonable. This is a wonderful venue for celebrations, such as family reunions and birthday parties. Whole fields can be hired to provide camping space for small festivals, educational or recreational holidays or camp-outs. We are situated along the ‘Limestone Link’ with glorious walks in every direction. The old Somerset Coal Canal runs through the farm. We encourage folks who are attending our events to use public transport, bicycles, or ride-share. We don't like the idea that we're adding to environmental pollution by hosting events.
